Overview
These terms and conditions (Terms) govern your access to and use of the Gamescout newsletter, intelligence reports, and related services. By accessing or using Gamescout, you agree to these Terms.
No guarantee, no poaching
- No guarantee of success. We do not guarantee hunting success, harvesting of any animal, or any specific outcome.
- Zero tolerance for poaching. We do not promote or condone poaching or any unlawful activity.
- Follow the law. You must comply with all applicable laws, seasons, quotas, licensing, tagging, land-access rules, closures, and safety requirements.
- On-the-ground verification. Conditions, access, and land status are dynamic. Always verify locally before entering any area.
Eligibility and accounts
- No minimum age requirement. Gamescout has no age restriction. Where required by local law, minors should use Gamescout under appropriate guidance or consent.
- Provide accurate account information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or the law.
Acceptable use
- No illegal conduct or violation of access rules.
- No harassment of wildlife, people, or landowners.
- No unauthorized scraping or bulk export of newsletter or report content.
- No abusive automated access to our website.
- No unauthorized sharing or reselling of newsletter content, intelligence reports, or your account credentials.
Data sources and attribution
Newsletter content and intelligence reports are derived from publicly available sources, including (without limitation) British Columbia Government datasets such as the BC Data Catalogue, public harvest data, and Limited Entry Hunt (LEH) draw results. Gamescout transforms, aggregates, and analyzes these public datasets to produce newsletter content and intelligence reports; we do not claim ownership of the underlying public data.
Availability, latency, quality, and currency of public datasets vary. Some data may be approximate or outdated. You accept all risks from reliance on Gamescout content and should corroborate in the field and with official sources.
Information accuracy and field risks
- Information published in the newsletter or intelligence reports may be incomplete, approximate, or out of date by the time you act on it.
- Outdoor activities involve hazards including terrain, weather, wildlife, and navigation errors. You assume all risks.
Conditions, access, and land status are dynamic. Always verify locally before entering any area.
Subscriptions and billing
- Free. Newsletter access at no cost. Ghost manages the member record. You can cancel by unsubscribing from the newsletter or by deleting your Ghost member account from the member portal.
- Annual ($49/y CAD). A recurring annual subscription, billed by Stripe through Ghost's native member-billing integration. The subscription auto-renews until you cancel it in the Ghost member account portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not provide prorated refunds.
- Lifetime ($180 CAD, one-time). A one-time payment processed via Stripe Checkout. There is no recurring billing. Lifetime access is non-transferable and not refundable after purchase except as required by applicable consumer-protection law.
All paid plans are priced in Canadian dollars. Taxes may apply. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Warranty disclaimer
Gamescout is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We expressly disclaim any guarantee of hunting success or harvesting of any animal.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gamescout and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gamescout from claims and liabilities arising out of your use of Gamescout or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update Gamescout or these Terms and will revise the Last updated date above. Continued use constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. For questions, contact gamescout.ca@gmail.com.
Scope
This privacy policy describes how Gamescout collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Gamescout newsletter and intelligence-report service.
Information we collect
- Name (optional). Some signup forms accept a name; you may leave it blank.
- Email address (required for newsletter delivery).
- Variant assignment for the A/B landing test (leh or blueprint), recorded in the gs_variant cookie.
- Payment data is processed by Stripe. Gamescout does not see or store your payment card details.
- Survey responses you choose to submit through our Tally form.
- Email engagement metadata, such as opens and clicks, handled by Ghost as part of newsletter delivery.
How we use information
- To deliver the newsletter and intelligence reports you signed up for.
- To process payments for paid subscriptions and the Lifetime tier.
- To improve newsletter and report content, performance, and reliability.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
Data sources
Our newsletter content and intelligence reports rely on public datasets such as the BC Data Catalogue, public harvest data, and Limited Entry Hunt (LEH) draw results. We do not claim ownership of the underlying public data; we transform, aggregate, and analyze it.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers (Ghost, Stripe, Cloudflare, Tally) may process information outside Canada. By using Gamescout you consent to those transfers, subject to applicable law.
Your choices and rights
You can manage your email subscription preferences from the Ghost member portal accessible at the bottom of any newsletter we send you, or by emailing gamescout.ca@gmail.com. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting gamescout.ca@gmail.com, subject to legal exceptions.
Children and minors
Gamescout has no minimum age requirement. Where required by local law, minors should use Gamescout only under appropriate parental guidance or consent. Hunting in British Columbia is separately regulated by provincial licensing rules; consult the BC Fish and Wildlife branch for those requirements.
